What We’re Looking For:
People who have the ability to set our campers up for success! Preferably, you’re a people person, have a positive attitude, and are naturally calm, level headed, patient, and caring. You have the desire to help others, and you enjoy working as part of a team to look for, discuss, and implement positive solutions to the day to day issues that arise with our clients. You are fun, non-reactive, and able to connect on a deeply emotional and personal level with the clients you care for and work with.
Ascendigo is a growing Roaring Fork Valley based nonprofit that enhances the lives of children and adults living with Autism Spectrum Disorder through outdoor sports education, adventure camps, community integration and an array of autism focused behavioral health services. We are headquartered in Carbondale and provide programming from Aspen to Rifle.
Our Adventure camps are designed so that participants of all athletic abilities are set up for success. We pride ourselves in ensuring progress in our sports while having lots of fun. Current sports and outdoor programming include summer, fall, and winter camps, and individualized services. Our summer camp offers 8 residential weeks based at the CMC Spring Valley campus. Summer camp activities include hiking, climbing, river rafting, lake & boating sports, biking (mountain & road), horseback riding. Winter activities include week long winter camps, and private skiing and snowboarding lessons on the AspenSnowmass ski resort.
Full Time/Year Round Openings:
The Director of Development is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all fundraising activities for the organization including the development of a major gifts program, annual fund, planned giving, special events and capital campaigns. The Director is also responsible for shaping, managing and driving the implementation of an effective communications and marketing campaign to educate and cultivate community and donor support. As a member of the senior management team, the Director of Development participates in strategic planning and budgeting initiatives in addition to problem solving. The Director reports to the President & CEO and works closely with the Board of Directors in all development and fundraising endeavors. Current overall fundraising goal is $1 million.
