Winter Adventure Programs
Private Ski Lessons – We offer private ski lessons through Aspen Snowmass Resorts. Our lessons are led by highly trained Ski Professionals that specialize in adaptive instruction. Ski lessons take place at Snowmass and Buttermilk Mountains. Following our Made For Me model, we offer person-centered and individually tailored instruction in skiing and snowboarding for individuals who have autism or other cognitive differences. Lessons range from beginner to advanced ski abilities. With the generous support of our partners at Aspen Skiing Company, Ascendigo can offer lessons at discounted rates. Private Lesson Registration will open in November. Please email Caroline Long to be placed on the Winter Interest list and receive updates on winter registration opening – clong@ascendigo.org.
- Ages 5+
- Full Day (9 AM – 3 PM)

General Ski Buddy Support – Ascendigo provides ski buddy support for individuals that are enrolled in a group ski lesson or would like to have 1:1 support on the mountain. Ski Buddies do not teach ski lessons but support with behavior management, mountain navigation, and activities of daily living (ADL) support. General Ski Buddy support is offered across all four of Aspen’s mountains – Aspen, Snowmass, Buttermilk, and Highlands. To qualify for 1:1 support outside of a group lesson, the participant must be an advanced skier/rider. Buddy services are subject to approval based off the participant’s skill level. Ski Buddies have limited availability – ample notice is required to secure a buddy for your ski days.
- Ages 5+
- Full Day Ski Buddy – $225.00
- Half Day Ski Buddy – $165.00
To inquire about General Ski Buddy Support, please email Caroline Long – clong@ascendigo.org.
AVSC Ski Buddy Support – This support is for skiers local to the Roaring Fork Valley that are enrolled in an Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club (AVSC) program. Ascendigo Ski Buddies will join your skier as a 1:1 support during their AVSC group lesson to help with behavioral support, activities of daily living (ADL) support, and class-integration. Ski Buddies are trained using Ascendigo Way principles to help ensure your skier is set up for success during their group lesson! Ski Buddy support is available for all AVSC programs. Ski Buddy availability is limited – requests are due before December 1st, 2024. Financial Aid is available for this program.
- Ages 4 – 17

Après Ski Custom Care Program – To complement Ascendigo’s private ski lessons, we are offering custom care immediately after the conclusion of your skier’s lesson. Capped at 1-2 participants per day, Après Ski Custom Care allows your participant to continue enjoying the company and fun of hanging with their Ascendigo friends while offering your family respite care during the evening. This program is customized to your skier and their unique abilities and interests. Activities include but are not limited to ice skating, rock climbing, dinner, swimming, etc. The Ascendigo team needs ample time to staff and plan for Custom Care programming – reservations are required one-week prior to time of service.
- Eligibility: Ascendigo Winter Adventures participants and siblings 5+
- Base Rate: $100/hour + customized activity fees
- Duration: 3 PM – 5 PM/6 PM immediately after the conclusion of full-day lessons or 12 PM – 4 PM/5 PM immediately after the conclusion of morning half-day lessons.
